Aviation Museum of Texas

Located at the Uvalde Municipal Airport, this museum hosts an original hanger for a World War II training base. You can peruse the memorabilia displays that tell the local history of aviation from WWII. This museum is located on Garner Field Road.

Cook's Slough Sanctuary

Spend some time outdoors at a natural birding habitat. In fact, this area has been hailed as one of the best locations for birding in the US by the National Audubon Society. The park sits on 25 acres of wetlands on Highway 117.

Briscoe Art & Antique Collection

It is located inside of the First State Bank of Uvalde and has more than 6,000 visitors every year. Janey Slaughter - Briscoe Grand Opera House

This theater was built in 1891 and features some magnificent architecture and history. Home to theater productions as well as children's performances, the theater sits on West North Street. Inside the lobby is a small museum that tells more about the history of Uvalde through special artifacts and photos.

Uvalde Memorial Park & Recreational Complex

Bring the kids out and let them play for an afternoon at this recreational complex, which is situated right on the Leona River. This park features shaded space and picnic areas for adults to relax while the kids enjoy the playgrounds or basketball and volleyball courts. Older kids will enjoy the skat board park while everyone can play disc golf or stroll down one of the walking trails. There are also fountains and an amphitheater for special events on the grounds.

Sahawe Indian Outdoor Theater

Learn about the culture of the first peoples of the United States as you watch the Sahawe Indian Dancers. Take in their colorful costumes as you watch them move to the steps they learned from their ancestors.

El Progresso Memorial Library

This library was built back in 1903 and is one of the oldest in this region. It moved to the current location back in 2004. Not only does the building serve as a library but it also features a museum of regional archives to help you learn more about the area.
